How to make your nails stronger? -Home remedies

From the title, you might be wondering how to make your nails stronger? Right? Well, let’s say that it has become essential to take care of your nails as part of your beauty routine. In some ways, it reflects our personality and style, and to some extent how we carry and present ourselves.

When I meet someone for the first time, I always check their hands, especially their nails. LOL! I bet you must have done it once in your lifetime ;D

Why do nails break easily?

We have to admit that nails have become one of the most significant cosmetic components of the body in recent years.

We all indeed want strong, healthy nails, but sometimes they're not as strong as we would like.

Unfortunately, several factors can weaken and brittle nails, which causes them to break and grow slowly.

According to experts, brittle nails are typically caused by poor diet, use of nail polish remover, ageing, lack of sleep, and trauma. However, there are also other factors involved. It is sometimes difficult to determine the exact cause. The experience may vary from person to person.

What are natural remedies?

If you have weak, brittle nails and could benefit from strengthening their condition, there are many natural remedies and essential nutrients that could strengthen your nails.

Strong nails can be strengthened and protected from future breakage using natural ingredients like wheat germ, garlic, and aloe vera. These natural nutrients improve the look and feel of nails by repairing and strengthening weak ones.

What should be considered?

According to Healthline, you should be mindful of these aspects when considering growing your nails.

· Take vitamin H B-7 as a supplement, known as biotin
In addition to strengthening hair and nails, biotin can also function properly in the nervous system of the body. The B vitamin can be found in foods such as sardines, cooked eggs, and legumes, or you can take a supplement.

· Make Sure That You Eat Right
Take a multivitamin and mineral supplement as well as eat a healthy and varied diet. You can lose your nails if you don't consume enough vitamins and minerals.

· Water exposure should be minimized

Your nails can become weak and brittle if you soak them too much in the water. Try to avoid getting your hands wet while bathing or washing dishes.

Obviously, you cannot avoid submerging your hands to be in contact with water, but it is something you should be aware of.

· Relax your nails and don't polish them too much

It's important to keep your nails moist, even if nail polish looks good. Polish can weaken nails, even if it is nontoxic.

Use an acetone-free polish remover to remove nail polish after a week or two, and let your nails be polish-free for a week thereafter.

· Be careful when using cleaning products

Rubber gloves are a good idea when cleaning around the house. Cleaning wipes and products can weaken nails due to chemicals. Chemicals can be avoided by wearing gloves.

Sometimes, our nails will become brittle, and break, causing them to be visibly damaged. Some of the reasons for this are the certain chemicals that we find in our everyday lotions and chemicals.

There are indeed many nail polishes and treatments that contain harsh chemicals that are detrimental to nails.

It is recommended to avoid nail polish removers containing acetone.

Make sure to use acetone-free polish remover and non-toxic nail polishes.

-Also, if possible, stay away from gel and acrylic nails!

Although they're touted as an easy solution for those who struggle to grow their nails, frequent use can weaken your nails and cause them to peel. Don't wear them continuously if you need them.

· Examine your shampoo carefully

A shampoo that's drying or tries to strip oils (such as one that's for oily hair) might cause your nails to dry out and weaken. See if you notice a difference when you switch shampoos for a couple of weeks.

You should see a doctor if you have tried many remedies, and nothing has helped. If you have brittle or thin nails, the root cause must be treated for your nails to become stronger.

Changing our lifestyles and habits can help strengthen our nails and get them where we would like them. Believe me when I tell you that you can grow stronger, longer, and healthier nails by taking care of them and by being more vigilant. 😊
